To take part in the bike loan scheme, you must live in the south Essex area and be over 18 years old. 

The bike loan scheme is focused on supporting access to work, education or training opportunities. Whilst anyone living in south Essex is able to apply to loan a bike, during busy periods jobseekers, apprentices, newly recruited employees and students will be given priority and anyone else will be added to a waiting list.

You can choose to rent a bike for a period of between 1 and 6 months. You decide towards the end of each month if you want to continue renting the bike for a further month. The maximum rental period is 6 months. 

All our bikes are fitted with mudguards, a luggage rack and good quality lock. You also have the option of purchasing a helmet, USB lights, pannier bags and hi-visibility vest. 

Bikes are delivered to your home or work address, provided it is within south Essex. We show you how the bike and equipment is operated and used, and set you up on the bike for optimal comfort. 

You pay for your bike rental monthly in advance by credit card or direct debit. 

No, a deposit is not required so that we keep the initial costs as low as possible for you. However you will be liable for the cost of repair or replacement of any parts damaged through misuse. 

Provided that you have locked the bike as we demonstrate to you, then the bikes are covered by our insurance. Otherwise, you are liable for the replacement cost of the bike and equipment. In any event you will need to contact the police and obtain a crime reference number from them.
